Last Thursday night, the 16th of September, the Louth Filmmakers Society held their first of three fundraisers in order to bring the Louth International Film Festival back to Dundalk.

Roughly 80 people attended to help bring back this amazing film festival which was sadly put on hold last year because of COVID. Huge thanks to everyone who showed up because it helps draw attention to the arts in our local community.

Hosted by Toales Bar, the entire event went down a treat, with a mix of humour and general knowledge giving everyone a great night. Big thanks to the owner, Geraldine and the head bar man, Davie for allowing us to put on such a great night. Also thanks to quiz master Goosey who did an amazing job.

Congratulations again to winning team, ‘Tequila Mockingbird’ (amazing name btw), who won a 50 euro drinks tab donated by Toales Bar.

Bar man Davie had this to say about the night: ‘Great night had by all, bar staff included. It was f*****g deadly’.

Between quiz rounds, great music was played, but halfway through the quiz the entire bar erupted into a full fledged party. And if things weren’t crazy enough, at some point everyone hoped up onto their tables to keep dancing (sorry Davie, but at least everyone had a memorable night). This night wouldn’t have been possible without Louth Filmmakers Society board member, Paul ‘Wick’ Cumiskey, who did an amazing job organizing this years fundraising events, so keep an eye out for more to come.
