LIFF 2021 FAQ
1. How much are tickets for the festival?
The Festival is free and Screen 1 does not use tickets and although some seats will be reserved, it will operate on a first come first served basis until capacity is reached. Under the current Covid 19 restriction, we are allowed to use 60% of the capacity (210 Seats) in the main theatre. Screen 2 is also free but because of the reduced capacity all screening Blocks are ticketed and are will be available to reverse on FilmFreeway from Wednesday the 29th of September. Alternatively, you can keep up to date via our social media or via the link above.
2. Is there a way to donate money to the festival?
Yes, we will have collection buckets on the day of the festival and we also have a Paypal account you can donate to ‘info@irishfilmmakers.org’. Donations are not necessary but greatly appreciated. The festival is run on a completely voluntary basis and all money raised goes to its running the festival. The remaining amount goes to the Louth Filmmakers Society which is the non-profit that runs the festival.
3. Is the festival suitable for children?
It is also important to note that anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Although there are some films that would be suitable for children, there are many that deal with subject matters that would not be. The feature film ‘County Lines’ is rated as 15A for example.
4. Can we bring food or drink into the screening rooms?
No food or drink is allowed in Screen 2 with the exception of bottled water. We will amend this post when updated about screen 1.
5. Do we have to register when we arrive at the festival?
Yes, every single person will have to register upon arrival. The primary reason is for contact tracing and in case of a fire. We also ask that you give us your email address for promotional purposes to help grow the festival. You’ll also be given a paper wristband to save time and hassle.
6. If we arrive late or mid programme will we be allowed in?
Yes, if late to any section of our scheduled programme we ask that you have patience while we will attempt to seat you with a minimum of disruption to the audience (probably in between film credits).
7. If I don’t have a ticket for Screen 2 can I still get in if there is space.
Yes, we will know how many spaces are left on the day and you’ll be allowed to take a seat.
If there are no shows when a screening Block starts those seats will also become available.
8. What is the Festival Club?
The festival club is the after-party mixer which is taking place in MO CHARA, located on the same street as An Táin art centre. It’s free but you’ll need to hold onto the paper wristband you get when you’ve registered.
9. What are the Covid 19 restrictions for the festival.
Masks must be worn at all times when inside until seated. Per the government phased Covid 19 restrictions from 22nd of September 2021. It also requires that you be vaccinated.
