‘Memories of the Border’ is a conversational, roundtable-style, talking heads documentary about the lives of soldiers living and stationed on the border. With the rising issue of reinstating a hard border entering our lives, it’s important to remind ourselves exactly what went on. To dispel some of the misinformation about what the real threats surrounding the border was.
This documentary will focus on the men of the 29th battalion who were stationed there. We’ll hear their stories. Their many highs and lows, and their feelings about their service. Archival images and footage will also be used to give us a visual sense of the time.
Memories of the Border will be directed by society member Ciaran Kinsella and produced by society vice-chairman, Ryan Hayes. It’s the first project to go through the new greenlighting process of LFS.
